Manuela Pavan, PhD, is an accomplished scientist specializing in toxicology and in cutting-edge in silico methodologies. With a background in Environmental Science and a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Milan Bicocca, she combines strong academic credentials with extensive industry and regulatory experience.
As a consultant and co-founder of Innovatune, she drives innovative solutions in human health hazard assessment, focusing on advanced (Q)SAR approaches, read-across methodologies, and predictive toxicology. Her expertise spans critical endpoints, including skin and eye irritation, sensitization, genotoxicity, carcinogenicity, acute toxicity, and reproductive toxicity, empowering clients to meet stringent regulatory requirements under ICH M7, REACH, CLP, and guidelines for biocides and cosmetics.
She brings extensive international experience, including her work at the European Commission, where she played a key role in developing technical guidance documents for REACH.
She actively contributes to numerous scientific projects focused on toxicology, including efforts in data curation and management. She is a member of international expert networks dedicated to advancing alternative methods, particularly in silico approaches, within both industrial and regulatory frameworks.
In addition, she is part of the EFSA expert group, supporting the authority across various fields, and collaborates with the Italian health authority to gather genotoxicity data for pesticides. Her work is documented in numerous toxicity reports and peer-reviewed publications related to toxicology.
