Arianna Bassan is a chemist and European Registered Toxicologist with a Ph.D. in Physics from Stockholm University and expertise in toxicology, specializing in human health hazard assessment.
Chartered by the Italian Authority as a Chemist, Arianna holds a Chemistry degree from the University of Padova and brings a wealth of experience from her work with several international institutions, including Stockholm University, MSD/Merck & Co., and the European Commission.
As a consultant and co-founder of Innovatune, she specializes in (Q)SAR methodologies, read-across techniques, weight-of-evidence and chemoinformatics, helping clients navigate complex toxicological assessments with scientifically robust and regulatory-compliant solutions. Arianna has led multiple scientific projects focused on toxicology as well as data curation and management and is actively involved in international expert networks dedicated to advancing alternative methods in regulatory toxicology, with a focus on in silico approaches.
Her leadership in coordinating industry working groups includes initiatives on organ toxicity predictions and carcinogenicity assessment, aligned with the ICH S1B addendum. She has contributed to major toxicology initiatives, such as providing scientific support to EFSA and collaborating with the Italian health authority on genotoxicity data curation for pesticides.
An author of numerous toxicity reports and peer-reviewed articles, Arianna is driven by a commitment to advancing innovative, science-based methodologies for toxicological risk assessment.
